North Central Indiana Releases Regional Arts and Culture Strategic Plan
October 8, 2025 - The North Central Indiana Regional Planning Council (NCIRPC), comprised of Cass, Clinton, Fulton, Howard, Miami and Tipton counties, unveiled the region’s first Arts and Culture Strategic Plan on October 7th at the Vibrant Event Center in Logansport. The release party was a celebration of the 11-month planning process designed to foster a cohesive, supported, and collaborative arts and culture community across the region.
The NCIRPC arts initiative received support from the Lilly Endowment Inc and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s (IEDC) READI 2.0 Redevelopment & Art Initiative to focus on enhancing the quality of place and build vibrant communities. The nearly 170 attendees heard from local, regional and state partners regarding the purpose, outcomes and next steps to guide and solidify the future of arts and culture in North Central Indiana.
“The North Central Indiana region has a tremendous arts and culture sector. Building on the variety of festivals, events, live performances and public art, we’ve developed a plan to attract new talent, grow population and increase tourism,” stated Steven Ray, NCIRPC Executive Director.
The Plan highlights strategies to increase access to the arts; leverage existing resources and amenities; invigorate local economies; and create a sense of pride in local experiences. Many of the action steps have a 1 to 5-year timeline, but the plan is designed to be an evolving document.
“We have more work in front us. The next step is implementation. We are looking to establish a North Central Arts Council to continue the momentum we’ve built,” Mr. Ray.
The final plan is available for review at https://www.northcentralarts.com/
