Yesterday we had a few locations reach near and above a feels like temperature of 110. We may do that again today. 🥵

The dark purple areas are not a guarantee that you will hit a heat index of 110, but these are the zones where it may be most likely.

At this point it doesn't make a huge difference. It is very hot and humid.

There is another round of fraudulent calls making their rounds in Peru. Callers (who may identify themselves as a police officer) will call a business and request that an employee take money and make various deposits on bar code accounts. The caller may have some minimal information about the business (such as an owner or possible manager). The caller may also insist that you only speak with them in reference to this matter and make it sound emergent.

As always, we encourage the public and business owners to use an abundance of caution as it pertains to fraudulent calls and emails. If something seems off, it probably is.

A simple way to protect yourself, your family and business would be to put into place a “fail safe “ word that you could institute into the conversation. If the caller doesn’t know the word that you and your family or business has put into place, it’s likely the call is a scam. We would also encourage you to change this word if you are a business on a regular basis.
