The afterschool program at Amsterdam Elementary School part of Hillsborough Township Public Schools, recently had a wonderful Family Snack & Paint event.

The event provided a meaningful opportunity for the children and their families to spend quality time together in a fun, creative, and welcoming environment.

Families worked side-by-side on art projects while enjoying snacks and conversation. The event was well attended and reflected our commitment to family engagement by creating opportunities for families to build positive memories together while fostering a strong sense of community within the program.

Unity Square was excited to partner with Meals on Wheels of Greater New Brunswick to now offer mobile delivery to their homebound clients as part of our FEED NJ grant through the NJ EDA. 🚐

10 clients received additional pantry items through this new initiative and more are interested in signing up. 🍎

We look forward to serving more homebound residents with our new mobile delivery and are excited for the additional partnerships we have developed through this grant.

For Mother’s Day, Unity Square was filled with love, healing, support, and community 💐💜

We are so grateful to have partnered with Nami NJ En Español and Dr. Maria del Carmen Rodriguez for an incredible mental health workshop focused on navigating anxiety during difficult times and learning healthy strategies to care for ourselves and one another. Mental health matters — especially for mothers and women who so often carry the weight of caring for everyone around them.

Through the NJ DOH Specific Populations Grant, along with generous community donations, we were able to provide self-care items, new clothing, and a delicious meal from to over 100 women in our community! ✨

Events like these remind us how important it is to create safe spaces where women feel seen, supported, empowered, and connected. Healing happens in community, and together we continue breaking the stigma around mental health while uplifting one another with compassion, understanding, and care.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this beautiful event possible. 💕
