This morning, Truck 2 and Engine 5 responded to South Brunswick as part of a Middlesex County Large Diameter Hose Task Force relief crew along with Avenel, Carteret, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory FD and Monmouth Junction to relieve the overnight and 2nd operational period units at the multiple alarm wood recycling facility fire on Broadway Road.

In November, our new 100’ rear mount heavy duty ladder truck will go into production. Truck 1 has an estimated completion date of February. We look forward to the fabrication process as all the pre-construction engineering documents are finalized now as we wait for it to hit the line.

Reminder!!! The application period to take the firefighter exam closes on 8/31. See the attached information from the NJ Civil Service Commission.

📢 The 2026 Entry-Level Firefighter Examination Announcements are now open. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 PM on August 31, 2026.

📆Important Dates:
- Testing will occur from December 2026 to January 2027.
- Exam results are expected to be received in March 2027.
- Physical Performance Testing (PPT) is anticipated to start in late spring 2027.

A special thank you to PD Traffic Maintenance for printing and renumbering old Engine 1 and Engine 2 to Engine 5 and Engine 6 to match the fleet. Having a solid reserve fleet immediately ready to respond when needed for multiple alarm fires, emergency recalls or when frontline apparatus is out of service for maintenance or repairs is vital to our efficient operations.
