It's the time of year when Fawns are being spotted at Perryville Park. Most of the time, the Fawn is alone. It has not been abandoned. Mothers leave their fawns for 6-8 hours a day and will return to feed them. This helps the fawn avoid predators. Also, fawns have very little scent to them, which also helps them avoid predators. Touching the fawns takes away this natural defense. If you see a fawn at the park, please do not touch it or harass it. There is also no need to call emergency services. If the fawn is injured, you can contact the number at the bottom of the flyer. Remember, "Take photos, not fawns" and help us keep our wild animals wild!
