National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is April 12–18, 2026.

This week, we honor the unseen heroes — our dedicated Emergency Dispatchers.

These professionals are the calm voices in the chaos, the critical first resource of communication during every emergency response, and the lifeline for both the public and our first responders.

Their ability to remain composed under pressure, gather vital information, and deliver life-saving instructions in real time is nothing short of extraordinary. Every call they take has the potential to change - or save a life. Day or night, in every condition, they are always there - ready when seconds matter most.

To our JFK Barrack Emergency Dispatchers - Erica, Charlene, Jenn, Lauren and Heidi - and our Emergency Dispatch Supervisor, Bethany: Thank you for being a lifeline to our troopers, your professionalism, resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to public safety does not go unseen or unappreciated.
