🚨 Maumee River Training Announcement 🚨

You may notice Perrysburg Fire Division crews in the river near the Maple Street boat launch this morning. Please be advised—there is no emergency.

Several members of the Perrysburg Fire Division attended a two-day Mayday Management Workshop this week in Bowling Green to strengthen their skills in handling one of the most critical situations on the fireground.

A “mayday” is called when a firefighter is in distress, and in those moments, the scene can quickly become chaotic if not managed properly. This specialized training focused on improving communication, coordination, and command strategies to ensure rapid, organized, and effective rescue efforts.

We’re proud of our team’s continued commitment to training and preparedness—because when seconds matter most, being ready makes all the difference.
