It has truly been an honor to witness such a remarkable full-circle moment in the career of Judge Edward D. Lukemire. When he became a Superior Court Judge in 1996, I had the privilege of filing his very first signed order on September 4th of that year.

Almost 30 years later, I had the honor of filing his final order—prepared by the very same attorney who drafted that first one. To make the moment even more special, I used our old-school red stamp.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Judge Lukemire over the years. His service, dedication, and impact will not be forgotten. Wishing him all the best in his well-earned retirement—he will truly be missed.

Due to the possibility of severe weather overnight and tomorrow morning, in consultation with Houston County Emergency Management Agency, all non-essential Houston County offices will be closed until 12:00 pm (noon) tomorrow, Monday, March 16. Essential services, including public safety, will continue to operate as normal.

We'll provide updates if conditions change. Stay safe, Houston County.

UPDATE: Jurors who were scheduled to report at Superior Court at 8:30 am tomorrow should report at 12:00 pm (noon) instead.
