Today is National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day! If you have spent any time around the base, you've probably crossed paths with Andrew, our base mechanic. He stays busy keeping the helicopter operational, safe and clean; Andrew has been a great asset and team player since day 1 with us. His cheerful attitude and dedication are appreciated so much. Andrew previously served in the Army as a Blackhawk mechanic; thank you Andrew for your service to the country and now to 154 and AirEvac!

Today we are highlighting Flight Paramedic "Larry from Perry". Larry has been a Paramedic for 28 years and has been with Air Evac for 12 years.

Larry is our Base Clinical Lead and is like the glue that holds our base together. He is the one that can walk into a chaotic room and turn it into a calm, peaceful environment. His most routine task at work is teaching his partner valuable life knowledge about fire hydrants.

We are proud to have Larry as a part of our team! Happy EMS week!

Today we are highlighting Flight Paramedic Cole. Cole has been a Paramedic for 10 years and has been with Air Evac for 3 of those years. He also served in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army Special Forces.

Cole enjoys spending time with family and going to the gym. He is a machine both on the clock and off the clock and enjoys eating tuna and rice for lunch every day. His most challenging task at work is keeping his partner focused and away from Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

He is a great asset to our team!

Medic highlight for today is James. James is known across the state by our crews as Captain Access. He has many nicknames, including Jamal, Jame (for short), Jameson, Badger, Bagget.

James has been a Paramedic for 8 years and has been flying with us for almost 5 of those years. He also served in the United States Military in the Marine Corps.

In a recent interview, James informed us that his favorite drink is Black Cherry Vanilla Bang Engery Drink, and his favorite on the clock activity includes pestering his partner Taylor. During his off time, James enjoys training for his next race and spending time with his wife and two kids.

We are proud to have James as a part of our team!

Happy EMS week! We are going to highlight our medics this week and we will start off with Christy!

Christy has been with Air Evac over 3 years and has been a Paramedic for over 20 years. She also served in the United States Marine Corps.
She has a jovial personality and you're garaunteed to laugh if she's around. In her off time she enjoys spending time with her family and her new puppy Bananas. Thank you for what you do Christy, we are proud to have you on our team!

Wrapping up , we spotlight Tabitha and Scott! Tabitha is another one of the few remaining OG crew members that opened the base, and she precepted several paramedics through their first 6 months. Tabitha is a dual certified nurse and medic, and most recently has spent a majority of the last year as the sole Regional Clinical Educator for Ga AirEvac. As evident in the picture, you can normally find Tabitha with a smile on her face!

Scott comes to us just recently, from one of our neighboring bases. He is no stranger to ACCESS either as he has eclipsed well over 500 flights. Scott lives locally and holds certifications in fire and EMS. He is triple certified with CEN, CFRN, and TCRN. Along with that, Scott is dual certified as a paramedic and nurse, spending considerable time working in some of the local ERs around us. He is pictured here during a workover shift in another state, receiving his 500th flight wings(he is on the left).

Continuing to celebrate our nurses during , we highlight Taylor! She has been a great asset to the team in numerous ways outside of flying; she does an outstanding job with procuring base household and medical equipment, retains a positive, happy to fly attitude, and for the most part keeps her partner in line. Taylor has committed herself to several advanced certs including CFRN and TCRN, and you might have seen a recent post showing her graduating for NP school! Just the other day at the level 1 trauma, there were whisperings in the hallway that “a local hometown hero is here!” She is a favorite just about in every corner of the state; thank you Queen for all you do!

Continuing with we present a local favorite, Brayden! It’s a rare day that you can make it into one of the local hospitals without someone asking “where’s Brayden?!” She brings much experience to the flight world with much of her pre flight time spent working in the ICU units and on an ECMO team. She has been a great addition to 154 with a desire to fly and provide access! She just recently obtained her CFRN advanced cert and is actively studying to become a Nurse Practitioner. Brayden enjoys spending her off time with friends, family and her dog Leo. She also enjoys Mexican food/margaritas and being peer pressured into running the local 5k!
