Today our crews spent the day sharpening their high-angle rescue skills in preparation for those low-frequency, high-risk incidents where training, teamwork, and proficiency can make all the difference. This training is part of our monthly special operations regimen that is designed to ensure our firefighters remain confident and capable in the technical skills needed when lives are on the line. High-angle rescue requires more than just specialized equipment. It requires communication, problem-solving, and trust in the firefighter working beside you. While we may not use the skills daily, but when the call comes, we must be ready.

Think you have what it takes to Train Like a Firefighter? 🔥

Join the Perry Fire Department on September 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Fire Station 2 (150 Commodore Drive) and put your strength and endurance to the test on the department’s physical agility course!

Participants will tackle seven firefighter training stations, including the Stair Climb, Hose Hoist, Keiser Sled, Rescue Drag, Fan Carry, Hose Advance, and Ladder Extension.

Participation is free and limited to the first 20 people who complete a waiver. Spectators are welcome!

Parking Reminder: If the station lot is full, please park along one side of Commodore Drive to keep access clear for fire apparatus.
