Does your child know what to do if a fire happens at home?

Having a family fire escape plan helps children stay calm and know exactly what to do during an emergency. This week's fire safety tips focus on planning ahead by identifying escape routes, practicing fire drills, choosing a family meeting spot, and knowing how to safely get out if smoke or fire is present.

Preparation today can help build confidence for tomorrow!

Teaching children what to do before an emergency happens can make all the difference.

Today's Fire Safety Tips for Kids focus on smoke alarms and detection:

🔴 Learn what a smoke alarm sounds like and know it means to get out quickly.

🔴 Help an adult test smoke alarms each month to make sure they are working properly.

🔴 If you hear a smoke alarm, tell an adult right away or follow your family’s escape plan.

Take a few minutes to talk through these simple safety tips with the children in your home. Practicing fire safety together helps everyone stay prepared and protected.
