🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Florida State Guard! 🌟

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Florida State Guard for their continued partnership with Taylor County! From last Tuesday through Friday, we had approximately 80 dedicated men and women on the ground here, performing numerous missions to support our community while also participating in their training.

Their efforts included debris cleanup and assistance with various other projects around our beach area. They played a crucial role in establishing a Point of Distribution (POD), through which we served over 115 families in our beach area as part of our food distribution partnership with Volunteer Florida.

To wrap up their week of service, they conducted a search-and-rescue exercise on land and in the water, partnering with emergency management and the local sheriff's department. This allowed us and the state guard to enhance our emergency skills and improve our understanding of our local marsh and coastal areas.

Not only did the Guard provide invaluable support during this time, but they also contributed to our local economy by dining at several local restaurants.

A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Pemberton, the Taylor County Commissioners, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, and everyone at our Local Extension Office for helping to host these amazing volunteers in our county.
