A state report revealed that Florida's unaccountable voucher system ran over budget by $47 million last year, with the Florida Department of Education quietly pulling money away from school districts to cover the overrun.

Lawmakers were given clear recommendations to fix the problem. The Senate came up with a proposal—but the House never even considered it.

Florida students deserve accountability, not a system where millions in taxpayer funds go unchecked.

We rarely agree with our Congressman Neal Dunn, M.D. politically. But he's our neighbor, and what happened to him yesterday wasn't right.

A person's health is private. Nobody should have their medical information publicly shared with the media without their say-so. Rep. Dunn deserved better than that. And folks here in District 2 deserved to hear something this serious from him directly, not from the President.

We wish Rep. Dunn and his family well during this difficult time.

We were thrilled to join Democrats from all over the state this past weekend for the Florida Democratic Party's Leadership Summit and State Executive Committee meeting in Jacksonville!

A HUGE thank you to Treasurer Brian Stewart and the entirety of the Florida Democratic County Chairs Association for their grant to the Taylor Dems!

We are also VERY grateful to the leadership of the FDP, including Chair Nikki Fried and Vice Chair of DEC Engagement Pam Castellana for their support!!

Tell me, which American family gets richer when gas prices go up? Not mine. Not my neighbors'. Higher oil prices means more expensive gas, more expensive groceries, more expensive EVERYTHING because it all has to be trucked to us somehow. President Trump ran on lowering costs for working families and keeping us out of new wars. He's broken both of those promises and the American people deserve better than this.

Third time's a charm! Yes, this week we welcomed all three Democratic candidates for Florida's 2nd Congressional District to Perry on Tuesday night to introduce themselves to Taylor County voters!

Thank you again to everyone who attended, as well as to Nic Zateslo for Congress, Yen Bailey for Congress, and Amanda Marie Green for Congress, for coming out to our February meeting! Excited to see all of you again, soon!

Did we mention that all three Democratic candidates for Florida's 2nd Congressional District came to town on Tuesday night to introduce themselves to voters?!

We were so happy to host Amanda Marie Green for Congress, Yen Bailey for Congress, and Nic Zateslo for Congress at our February meeting where we received our charter from the Florida Democratic Party!

Residents of the 2nd Congressional District are so fortunate to have such wonderful candidates working for the opportunity to represent us and we're excited to get to work with them!!

We also had all THREE Democratic candidates for Florida's 2nd Congressional District join us and introduce themselves to the community members in attendance! Thank you so much to Yen Bailey for Congress , Amanda Marie Green for Congress, and Nic Zateslo for Congress for making the drive to be with us for this moment!
