Congratulations to Our Firefighter I Candidates!

This week, three of our members successfully completed the structural burn portion of their Firefighter I certification program.

The live burn evolution is one of the most challenging and rewarding components of Firefighter I training. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to safely operate in a live fire environment while applying critical skills such as fire attack, hose line management, communication, teamwork, situational awareness, and adherence to established safety procedures. The training is designed to prepare firefighters for the conditions they may encounter on the fireground while emphasizing safety, discipline, and professionalism.

A special congratulations goes out to Past Chief Trotter, who had the unique opportunity to watch two of his children, Abby and Jacob Trotter, successfully complete this important milestone in their firefighting journey. It is always exciting to see multiple generations of service represented within the fire company.

We would also like to recognize John Caro, who completed the live burn training alongside Abby and Jacob. We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment all three candidates have shown throughout the course.

Please join us in congratulating Abby, Jacob, and John on this accomplishment as they continue working toward earning their Firefighter I certification!

πŸ”₯πŸ” Summer Safety Series – Grilling & Outdoor Fires

Nothing says summer like firing up the grill, gathering around a fire pit, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. But these activities can also lead to fires if a few simple precautions aren't taken.

A few reminders to help keep your summer safe:

πŸ”₯ Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, decks, railings, and anything that can burn.
πŸ”₯ Never leave a grill unattended while cooking.
πŸ”₯ Clean grease and fat buildup regularly.
πŸ”₯ Keep children and pets a safe distance from grills and fire pits.
πŸ”₯ Fully extinguish outdoor fires before leaving the area.
πŸ”₯ Check local regulations before burning, especially during dry conditions.

Did you know? A large number of outdoor fires start because a grill was placed too close to a house, deck, or overhanging branches. Giving your grill a little extra space can make a big difference.

We want everyone to enjoy their summer safely. A little prevention today can help avoid an emergency tomorrow.

Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and happy grilling! β˜€οΈπŸš’πŸ”

Yesterday afternoon, Perkasie Fire Company was dispatched to a reported brush fire in a wooded area.

Upon arrival, Battalion 76 met with a PPL representatives, who identified an active brush fire believed to have been caused by downed power lines approximately 1.5 miles into the woods. Crews located an access point near the 1700 block of N. Rockhill Road to gain access to stage apparatus and then made their way to the fire on foot.

After PPL secured the hazard and cleared firefighters to proceed, crews utilized Indian packs (a specialized 5 gallons backpack water tank system connected to a manual hand pump), chainsaws, rakes, and hand tools to contain and extinguish a brush fire measuring approximately 100 feet by 20 feet.

Firefighters remained on scene for approximately two hours, working diligently to fully extinguish hot spots and ensure the fire would not rekindle.

Thank you to all responding personnel and Dublin Volunteer Fire Company for their hard work and dedication, and to PPL for their assistance throughout the incident. Incidents like these are a reminder that brush fires can occur in difficult-to-access areas and require teamwork, determination, and specialized equipment to bring them under control.

Stay safe and remember to report any downed wires or signs of fire immediately.

πŸŽ“πŸŽ‰ Congratulations Pennridge High School Class of 2026! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ“

Tonight, our members were honored to be part of your graduation celebration, helping provide fireworks detail as you marked this important milestone.

To the graduates: congratulations on all you’ve accomplished. Whether you’re headed to college, the workforce, the military, trade school, or still figuring out what’s next, remember that success isn’t measured by how quickly you reach your destination; it is measured by the character, perseverance, and kindness you show along the way.

Don’t be afraid to take chances, make mistakes, and change course when life takes you in a different direction. Some of the best opportunities come from paths you never expected to take.

Enjoy tonight, celebrate your achievements, and look forward to the adventures ahead.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Your community is proud of you. β€οΈπŸŽ“πŸš’

πŸŽ†πŸš’ Summer Safety Month – Fireworks Safety

With summer here and the Fourth of July right around the corner, we're kicking off our Summer Safety series with a reminder about fireworks safety.

Every year, fireworks cause thousands of injuries and fires across the country. What starts as a celebration can quickly turn into an emergency when fireworks are used improperly or too close to homes, vehicles, dry grass, or other combustible materials.

A few safety reminders:
πŸŽ† Keep a safe distance from fireworks.
πŸŽ† Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
πŸŽ† Keep water nearby in case of fire.
πŸŽ† Never relight a malfunctioning firework.
πŸŽ† Follow all local laws and regulations.

And if you're looking for a great fireworks show, leave it to the professionals! πŸ˜‰

πŸ“… Be sure to mark your calendars for June 27, when our Carnival wraps up alongside Perkasie Community Day, ending with a spectacular free fireworks display.

Stay safe, enjoy the summer, and we'll see you at the carnival! β€οΈπŸš’πŸŽ‘πŸŽ†
