Hydrant Flushing

The Perham Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants starting at 10:00 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and finish on or before Friday, May 1, 2026. Because of the flushing, you may notice particles or discolored water for a short duration in your business & household faucets. If this occurs, run your water for a few minutes and it should clear up.

The purpose of flushing is to clean out deposits in the water mains that have built up.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The City of Perham is declaring a snow emergency for Saturday, April 4, 2026 beginning at 1:00 pm.

During a Snow Emergency—which is any time there is two (2) inches or more of snow—no parking is allowed on any street within the City of Perham.

Parking restrictions remain in effect until streets have been plowed curb-to-curb or until the Public Works Director declares that snow removal has been adequately completed.

Your cooperation helps our crews clear the streets safely and efficiently.

Thank you!

Winter Natural Gas Safety Tips

Protect Your Natural Gas Meter & Keep Your Home Warm Safely!

* Please clear a path, provide access, and clean your natural gas meter of any snow and ice.

* If your meter is covered in snow, gently remove it by using a brush or a broom. Never use a shovel or hard object to remove snow or ice from a meter.

* Be careful using a shovel, snow blower, or snowplow when clearing snow & ice near your natural gas meter. When clearing sidewalks or driveways, do not pile snow on or near the meter.
* Do not use sharp objects, salt, ice melting chemicals, or hot water to remove snow and ice.

* Protect your meter by removing any overhead icicles and snow, so they do not fall and cause damage to your meter.

* Keep exhaust vents for natural gas appliances such as water heaters, dryers, and fireplaces clear of snow & ice to prevent a buildup of carbon monoxide.

If you suspect a gas leak, vacate the premises & call Perham Natural Gas’s emergency line, (888)262-3837 or dial 9-1-1 from a safe location!

Important Notice: Natural Gas Customers -

Due to extreme cold temperatures and unusually high demand, we are experiencing supply constraints. To help ensure continued service for everyone, we are asking customers to lower their thermostats (recommend 60–65°F) and conserve usage of gas appliances (water heater, stove, dryer).

Small adjustments can make a big difference. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
