Our hearts go out to Baldwin Central and Tammy’s family. Some of us have worked with her for years even though it was over the radio. You will be missed.

Thanks to whoever left this nice jack-stand after they stole the tire and wheel off the Tahoe we have in the field south of the firehouse for training. Just another inconvenience that we have to deal with

Perdido Beach VFD responded with Elberta, Summerdale, Foley, Lillian, Josephine, Magnolia Springs and Fairhope fire departments for a grain silo on fire this morning. 5 hours later and 75,000+ gallons of water the fire was extinguished. Thanks to all departments on scene, Medstar for standing by and Baldwin Central.

Anytime you hear about a fire involving farm equipment, silo fires or hay bale fires, these are some of the most difficult fires to fight.

Today PBVFD took delivery of a new Mini Pumper that our Board of Directors approved a couple of months ago. We appreciate their support for this purchase. This truck is a combination of a rescue truck and a pumper, it will allow us to respond to incidents such as medical calls, motor vehicle accidents and helicopter landing zones much more efficiently. The smaller truck will allow us to respond to residences with limited access much easier.

Our volunteers will be spending the next few weeks equipping the truck and training on it. Come by the station for a visit and learn more about it.

FYI. There average delivery time for a new fire apparatus is 3-4 years, by ius purchasing a stock truck like this we took delivery in 2 months.
