On behalf of our stair climb team, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us during the American Lung Association’s “Fight for Air” Stair Climb. Thanks to your continued generosity and encouragement, we CRUSHED last year’s fundraising goal and raised over $10,000! —with only under one week left, we hope to bring home the trophy for a second year as we remain in the top spot with the most money raised of any Fire Department!

Your donations will help fund crucial lung disease research, advocacy, and support for those in need. Every dollar made a difference, and every word of encouragement fueled our climb.

We’re proud to have represented Pepper Pike for a third year in this challenge, and we’re already looking forward to taking on the climb next year.

Five of our firefighters recently trained alongside surrounding suburban departments during an ice rescue exercise on Lake Erie.

The multi-agency training focused on cold-water survival, victim extraction techniques, deployment of rescue sleds, and coordinated operations in winter conditions. Working in realistic, controlled scenarios strengthens interoperability between departments and ensures a unified response.

Joint training like this reinforces regional partnerships and enhances our readiness to protect the community during advanced emergencies.

Support Our Firefighters in the Fight for Air Climb 🧑‍🚒

For the third year in a row your Pepper Pike Fire Department is participating in the Fight for Air Climb in Cleveland at the Key Tower on March 1st to raise funds for the American Lung Association!

This event challenges firefighters to climb the 1,000+ steps of the tower to help support lung disease research, advocacy, and education.

We are seeking donations to help fund this important cause, and bring home the “Top Fundraising Team” trophy for a second year! Your support would mean the world to us. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference in the fight for cleaner air and healthier lungs 🫁

In every successful organization, there’s an unsung hero(es) who works tirelessly behind the scenes, yet never seeks praise or recognition for their contributions. Without them, though, so much simply wouldn’t get done.

At Olivia’s Dream, that person is Kevin Madger.

Kevin is boots on the ground—coordinating with fire departments for our toy drive, organizing our Stuff the Squad events, and stepping in wherever help is needed.

Beyond his work with Olivia’s Dream, Kevin is a real-life hero, serving as a firefighter with the Highland Heights Fire Department. True to form, Kevin doesn’t have social media, so if you know him and see him, please feel free to share this post and help us thank him for all he does.
