Before the first breakfast order is served, the first machine starts, or the doors open for the day, businesses across Peoria are already using energy.

At the end of the month, those businesses receive separate electric bills. Through the Chamber Energy Savings Program, members can bring those accounts together and take their electricity needs to market as a larger buying group.

According to Good Energy, current participants are saving 15% compared with Ameren’s default tariff. The evaluation is free, there is no obligation to enroll, and the current buying cycle closes September 25.

August gave our Chamber Ambassadors plenty of opportunities to connect, learn, and enjoy time together.

The team met at The Coventry Room (GP Miller Floral) at Keller Station, where hosts Glen Miller and Gretchen Powell welcomed the group and Ambassador spotlights from Naomi Willis of Meadowview Behavioral Hospital and Rob Ambrose of First Mid Bank & Trust helped everyone get to know fellow members better.

They also gathered at Obed & Isaac's for a monthly social that kept growing as the evening went on. Rob Hanauer and Alec Schaer of Hanauer Law and Carol Merna of the Center for Prevention of Abuse were among the members who joined the fun.
