Congratulations to Komatsu America Corp. on the grand opening of its new Peoria office building and Customer Experience Center.

Chamber President & CEO Jessica Linder Gallo joined local leaders, project partners, and the Komatsu team on Wednesday, June 10, to celebrate this important investment in our region. The new facility will serve as Komatsu’s Surface Haulage Headquarters and support teams working in engineering, innovation, sales, manufacturing management, and customer engagement.

The celebration also included a ceremonial tree planting and recognition of the 980E-5SE mining truck, built in Peoria and named the 2024 Coolest Thing Made in Illinois. Investments like this reinforce Peoria’s strength as a manufacturing community and our role in supporting the future of mining innovation.

The 51st Class of Community Leadership School has completed its 16-week leadership experience.

This year’s cohort brought together 35 leaders from across Greater Peoria to strengthen their skills, build connections, and gain a deeper understanding of the community they help serve. Participants also worked in small groups alongside local experts to explore real challenges facing our region.

Community Leadership School continues to be one of the Chamber’s most meaningful investments in leadership development. Each class adds to a larger network of professionals prepared to lead in their workplaces and communities.

Thank you to every instructor, host business, and partner who helped make this experience possible. We also want to thank our program sponsors, Commerce Bank and Farnsworth Group, for investing in the continued development of regional leaders.

Meaningful conversations happen when business leaders come together to share ideas, perspectives, and insight.

The Chamber hosted its first invite-only Convener Breakfast, welcoming 20 leaders from 13 Greater Peoria companies for a focused discussion on the economic forces shaping our region.

The conversation was led by Dr. Michael J. Hicks, Director and George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Economics at Ball State University’s Center for Business and Economic Research.

This annual breakfast is an exclusive benefit for Convener, Catalyst, and Champion tier members. It reflects one of the Chamber’s most important roles: bringing business leaders together for conversations that inform decisions, strengthen connections, and support a healthier regional economy.

Thank you to Dr. Hicks for joining us and to the Peoria Civic Center for hosting.

Networking feels different when it has room to move.

NetWalking brought more than 30 Chamber members to the Peoria Riverfront for guided small-group conversations, walking rotations, and a format designed to make introductions feel easier and more natural.

Groups switched at the halfway point, giving attendees a chance to meet more people before wrapping up with coffee and continued conversation at El Mirador en el Rio.

Thank you to the RiverPlex for serving as our host site and to El Mirador en el Rio for hosting the post-walk gathering.

The Chamber offers no-cost networking opportunities for members every month. Next up is The MIX on June 11, featuring open networking, Chamber 101, and a new member celebration.
