We are blown away.

Our recent job posting brought in a number of applicants. To everyone who took the time to apply, submit a resume, or share our post with someone who might be a good fit: thank you. Your support means more to us than you know.

Because of the volume of great candidates, we're taking the time to review everyone thoughtfully. We'll begin scheduling interviews after Labor Day and can't wait to start meeting some of the incredible people who want to join the JOLT team.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we gather to remember together—and to begin healing together.

JOLT Foundation invites our community to join us in honoring the people we have lost to overdose. This will be a welcoming space to rest, grieve, connect, and speak the names of those we carry with us.

There is no expectation that you share your story, speak publicly, or participate in any particular way. You are welcome to talk, listen, sit quietly, step away when needed, or simply be among people who understand. Come exactly as you are.

Bring yourself, a chair if you have one—and extras for others, if you’re able—and any grief you’ve been holding onto. Food and drinks will be provided.

Everyone is welcome—staff, volunteers, participants, families, friends, neighbors, and anyone whose life has been touched by overdose.

If you are a service or helping professional (public health, fire rescue/EMS, substance use treatment, healthcare, social work, etc.) who's been impacted, you are invited to join us as well.

We're hiring: Peer Recovery Navigator ❤️

JOLT Foundation is looking for someone with lived experience in substance use and recovery to join our team as a Peer Recovery Navigator. This is a chance to walk alongside people in our community — meeting them exactly where they're at, with judgment-free support and real connections to treatment, housing, healthcare, and the other pieces that make life more stable.

If you know firsthand what recovery (or the road to it) looks like, and you want to turn that experience into support for others, we want to hear from you.

A Request from the JOLT Family

Our JOLT community is grieving with one of our own.

A family who has stood beside JOLT since the very beginning — showing up, believing in this work, and helping us build a community rooted in compassion instead of judgment — recently lost a loved one to an overdose. Now they're facing the added weight of covering cremation costs during one of the hardest moments a family can go through.

This is exactly the kind of moment our community exists for. Grief from overdose loss is still too often met with silence or shame — we want this family to feel the opposite: held, supported, and surrounded by people who see their loved one's life as worth grieving, fully and openly.

Ten Ways To Be A Harm Reductionist:

1. Buckle Up!
2. Wash your hands and veggies to avoid explosive diarrhea (anyone else follow that news lately?)
3. Don't be too cool to wear earplugs at the punk show!!!!
4. Stop at the red light.
5. CARRY NALOXONE ❤❤❤
6. Install a smoke detector (and hold your landlord to that too!)
7. Use protection (free condoms at JOLT!)
8. Dispose of needles in a sharps container. We have free containers at JOLT as well as a big red 24 hour sharps disposal right outside at 2203 N Sheridan Rd.
9. Use test strips or drug checking services.
10. LOVE YOURSELF. LOVE OTHERS.
