Next month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

- Every minute, nearly 20 people in the U.S. are physically abused by an intimate partner.
- Only about 50% of incidents are ever reported to the police.

These numbers only reflect reported cases. The real figures are likely much higher, hidden by fear, shame, and lack of resources.

Every year, we sell shirts and patches to raise money for Angels on Patrol, a charity dedicated to providing support to community members in times of crisis.

The Peoria Police Department is teaming up with Special Olympics Arizona and Texas Roadhouse for another fantastic event: “Tip-A-Cop” on August 28th, from 2pm to 10pm! The restaurant is located at Arrowhead Fountains Center (83rd Ave & Bell Rd)!

Officers and department Professional Staff will be helping serve up delicious food and ice-cold (non-alcoholic) drinks alongside the restaurant’s amazing waitstaff. From fresh hand-cut steaks to appetizers and buttery rolls, the evening promises great food and even greater company. Best of all - 100% of the tips collected will be donated to Special Olympics Arizona!

Last year, we raised $5,700.00 (TOP Tip A Cop in the state)!

Officers are investigating a serious-injury collision at **91st Avenue and Bell Road**. The intersection is closed in all directions.
