🚧Road Impacts for OSF Nun Run for Cancer - May 2🚧
Beginning at 6 a.m. and lasting until 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on several city streets for the OSF Nun Run for Cancer, sponsored by OSF Foundations.

Drivers should use caution, expect temporary delays, and be mindful of road closures along the route. The use of alternative routes is advised.

Run Route
Runners will start midblock on S.W. Water Street between Liberty Street and Main Street. Runners will proceed northeast on Water Street, north on Eaton Street, and southwest on N.E. Washington Street. Runners will turn around midblock on S.W. Washington Street between Pecan Street and S. MacArthur Highway, then head northeast on S.W. Washington Street, north on Fulton Street, northeast on Adams Street, south on Main Street, and southwest on S.W. Water Street, finishing at the starting line.

Road Closures – 6 a.m.

• S.W. Water Street will be closed between Harrison Street and Liberty Street.

Road Closures – 7:15 a.m.

• Water Street will be closed between Liberty Street and Eaton Street.

• Eaton Street will be closed between N.E. Water Street and N.E. Adams Street.

• Washington Street will be closed between Eaton Street and S. MacArthur Highway.

Adams Street is now TWO-WAY TRAFFIC between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Hamilton Boulevard.

Drivers should be alert for oncoming traffic in both directions, pay close attention to new pavement markings and signals, and watch for bicyclists using the new bike lanes.

As a reminder, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, traffic on Adams Street between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Hamilton Boulevard will change from one-way to two-way as part of the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way (OWTW) Conversion Project.

Drivers should be aware of this significant traffic change and BE ALERT FOR TWO-WAY TRAFFIC. Please pay close attention to new pavement markings, traffic signals, and signage, and allow extra time when traveling downtown.

Green infrastructure enhancement work is underway throughout the City of Peoria. 🌱🌼

Crews have resumed work in green infrastructure areas and native prairies, including soil and plant removals, soil amendments, and new native plantings to support the long-term health and function of these spaces.

This work helps maintain features designed to:
💧 Manage stormwater
🌎 Improve water quality
🐝 Support pollinators
🌿 Enhance neighborhood aesthetics

Enhancement work will take place in the Warehouse District and at locations throughout the city, including bioswales, planter boxes, prairie areas, and green infrastructure bumpouts.

Periodic work at these locations throughout the year is a part of ongoing maintenance and improvement efforts.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 24, paving work will continue on Jefferson Avenue from Fayette Street to N. William Kumpf Boulevard. While paving is underway, drivers can expect DELAYS OF UP TO 30 MINUTES. Paving work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday.

Adams Street will remain reduced to one lane between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Hamilton Boulevard for striping work.

THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ROUTES IS STRONGLY ADVISED.

Lane Restrictions – Friday, April 24

Adams Street has been reduced to one lane between N. William Kumpf Boulevard and Hamilton Boulevard for striping work. The three far-right lanes and the south side parking lane are closed to all traffic. Traffic patterns and lane restrictions will change throughout the day on Wednesday.

Resurfacing work on Jefferson Avenue will continue on the north side of the road on Wednesday. Lane and parking restrictions will be in effect from the Interstate 74 overpass to N. William Kumpf Boulevard.

Drivers should EXPECT LONG DELAYS. The use of ALTERNATIVE ROUTES IS STRONGLY ADVISED.
