Members of PCAC participated in protests and the occupation of Chappie James Memorial Bridge that led to the creation of the Civilian Police Advisory Committee. It was never stated that this would be a temporary committee and there are citizens who support the committee as they advocate on our behalf in helping to institute changes within the Pensacola Police Dept. following the death of Tymar Crawford. Mayor Grover C. Robinson, IV is only doing the due diligence of those constituents who considered him "weak" and "having his power stripped by terrorists" by disbanding this committee. As we attempt to get legislation passed that will Repeal the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights (LEOBoR) so that this committee can have the true power it deserves and was demanded, we seek to have the Pensacola City Council allow CPAC to work under their jurisdiction. It is what the community wants and needs.
