This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice and unwavering dedication to freedom will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Organized by Navy Veteran Mr. Gary Gable and the Alabama Patriot Guard, the 479 FTG contributed to today's KIA Ceremony at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola. Members joined Navy personnel and local veterans in a Grave Decoration and Honor Ceremony, placing grave cloths, flowers, and American flags at the headstones of those killed in action. Together, participants honored the fallen by sharing their stories and rendering salutes in remembrance of their sacrifice and service.

It was a powerful joint event with our Naval counterparts and a reminder that the legacy of our fallen heroes lives on through acts of remembrance and service.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

The 479th Flying Training Group spent the evening at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos game as they took on the Rocket City Trash Pandas! ⚾️🐟🐼

There’s no better way to enjoy a night than at the ballpark, and the excitement kicked off with a 2-ship T-6 flyover conducted by the 455th Flying Training Squadron. A great evening of baseball, community, and Raider pride! 🇺🇸

We appreciate the opportunity to attend and enjoy a great evening at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos game from the Publix Porch. Thank you to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos staff for their hospitality and support of the local military community!

479 STUS Lieutenants had the opportunity to tour the WP-3D “Orion” getting an inside look at one of NOAA’s most versatile research aircraft. Equipped with advanced scientific instrumentation, radar systems, and atmospheric sensors, the turboprop aircraft is designed to collect critical low-altitude weather and environmental data not available through satellites or ground-based radar. Visitors learned how the Orion supports hurricane reconnaissance and environmental research missions around the world.

The 479 FTG had the privilege of collaborating with numerous organizations to play a small role in a truly meaningful day. In support of Ascension Sacred Heart’s National Superhero Day celebration, members of the 455 FTS, their AFE team, and 479 FTG Innovations teams visited children at the Studer Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

Joining the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, NAS Pensacola Navy personnel, Marines, and many other local organizations, the team helped create a fun and uplifting experience for children battling illnesses. They brought VR goggles for immersive experiences, while the AFE team helped “suit up” children in flight gear and handed out miniature airplanes—bringing a message of strength, support, and solidarity to every child.
