Today, we honor the International Day of Charity, observed on the anniversary of the passing of St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa), whose life was devoted to serving those in need.

Her example reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness can bring hope to someone facing difficult times.

Life can be challenging sometimes. Many come to us during moments of deep uncertainty, feeling overwhelmed and without hope.

A single mother with young children came to Catholic Charities during a particularly challenging time in her life. She is a dental assistant, and after returning to work following medical leave, she soon faced another setback. Her young daughter became ill, requiring her to take additional time off work to care for her child. With the added strain of missed workdays, she struggled to keep up with her rent and medical expenses. Catholic Charities provided her with rental assistance to help her regain financial stability. This assistance allowed her to focus on her daughter’s health and well-being without added stress. Together with our donors, we are helping people live a life of dignity, not just survival. Thank you for helping us help others.
