Visit Marked Tree Vineyard in Hendersonville. Located on the property where David Orr grew up, they have some excellent wines and you can shop online.

Our famous, award-winning hybrid grape grown on our Double Geneva Curtain (GDC)trellis system in the middle Pisgah block. A cross between a Chardonnay and Seyval. 161 cases produced. Notes of stone fruit, golden raisin, honeysuckle, apricot and wet stone. Crest of the Blue Ridge AVA.

It has been a while since we posted. Nick’s has undergone some changes. Our lady in the window has undergone several personality changes in the last year. She’s now dressed for the holidays. Look for some exciting new things in the upcoming year. We have big plans.

A lesson in community. Having grown up working and playing in the store, I (Cyndy) witnessed firsthand how Nell operated her business. She was always open on Christmas Eve for people who needed last-minute things for their parties and family meals, gas to get to those gatherings, or to get a personal check cashed for money for a last-minute addition to a card. Nell extended credit at no interest to many community members during this time of year (and all
Other times of the year), allowing them some breathing room to enjoy their holidays and other tough times. Small businesses are the heart of community. Sometimes people didn’t pay her for several months, and sometimes those checks didn’t get cashed for a few weeks. We sometimes forget there was a time when it was beneficial to the merchant and the customer to be understanding and patient. It helped the business thrive and helped the customer have a better life. A great lesson for all of us.

We're thankful for the precious memories of Thanksgivings shared with Nell and Clyde, which continue to bring us joy. In later years, Nell's tradition of opening the store after the noon meal created a special sense of community. Many of you were able to experience her warmth and hospitality on Thanksgiving. We're grateful for the memories that inspire us to cherish every moment.
