Pennsville Fire and Rescue regret to announce the passing of past chief and life member Bob Chambers. Bob joined station 5 in June of 1962 an became a life member with the station in February of 1991. Chief Chambers rose through the ranks from lieutenant starting in 1983 all the way up to chief from 1987-1989. Chief chambers also held other titles within the town as Fire Official from 1993 to 2015 and was the executive committeeman for Salem county for the New Jersey state firemen’s association. Chief chambers will be sorely missed by many.

Services for Chief Bob Chambers will be held April 8th from 9:30am to 11am at Ashcraft Funeral home here in Pennsville.

The Pennsville Junior Police Academy is making its return August 3rd through August 7th for qualifying participants!

If your child has ever wanted to see what it’s like to train like the police (minus the paperwork), this is their chance!

Please stay off of the roads unless you absolutely have to travel. Road conditions will continue to deteriorate throughout the storm event, especially concerning is the forecast for significant icing later today and freezing temperatures into the work week. Give the Public Works crews time to safely clear the roads.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Pennsville Township Ambulance Captain, and former New Jersey Assemblywoman Bethanne McCarthy. Bethanne served Pennsville Township as a volunteer and career Firefighter/EMT for over 30 years with pride. She will be sorely missed.

Bethanne McCarthy Patrick, who served one term as an assemblywoman from 2022 to 2024, has died. She was 55. She was found in her home this morning. The

The Fire Truck will not be going down dead end streets as much as possible, Although we are dedicated to our guest of honor, our Station remains in service. We must be able to respond to an emergency promptly. To ensure everyone has the best opportunity to see Santa, we will wait a few minutes on the Main Street with a dead end. Please listen for our truck sirens to know when we are close.
