Eye to the sky this evening!!

2:06 PM ET 9/9/26: Scattered thunderstorms should develop and intensify through the afternoon just south of Lake Erie, expanding and gradually strengthening. As a jet stream moves over the northern Appalachians in about 4–6 hours, stronger wind shear may bring multicells, brief supercells, and short line segments with mainly damaging gusts. A brief tornado is possible.

💧 Supporting Our Fellow Firefighters 🚒

Through a grant Penfield VFD received from the National Volunteer Fire Council, we were able to donate 10 cases of water to the Sinnamahoning Volunteer Fire Department & Ambulance Service!

We’re always grateful for opportunities to support our neighboring departments and the volunteers who work tirelessly to serve their communities. ❤️

Penfield VFD was proud to have all four of our trucks in the parade—and we managed to bring home a prize for every one! 🏆🚒

🚨 SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING — CLEARFIELD, ELK, & CAMERON🚨

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Clearfield County, Southwestern Elk County, and South Central Cameron County.

⏰ Until 9:30 AM EDT

🌩️ HAZARDS:
• 70 MPH wind gusts
• Penny-size hail
• Considerable tree damage
• Damage possible to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings
• Tornadoes are possible

📍 At 8:51 AM, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from Johnsonburg to Brandy Camp, Brockway, and near Portland Mills, moving southeast at 50 MPH.

⚠️ Radar has indicated rotation within these storms. A tornado is not immediately likely, but tornadoes can develop quickly.

🕘 TIMING:
• 9:00 AM: St. Marys, DuBois, Penfield
• 9:10 AM: S.B. Elliott State Park, Benezette, Force
• Other areas impacted include West Decatur, Grassflat, Wallaceton, Weedville, and Morrisdale.

🚗 I-80: The warning includes areas between the DuBois and Kylertown exits, mile markers 97–136.

🏠 TAKE SHELTER NOW: These are dangerous storms. Immediately move inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows.
