Charles E. “Charlie” Powell, age 83, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away from natural causes on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Casky Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Brown and Pastor Will Stone officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the service time at 2:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Charlie was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on December 22, 1942, the son of the late Hollis Stuart Powell and Margaret Clark Powell. He was a proud US Army Captain Veteran serving his country for 4 years and 2 months. He retired after 22 years from Broyhill Furniture Industries in North Carolina and served 20 plus years at the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff in North Carolina. After retiring he came home to the family farm and began farming for the next 30 plus years until his retirement from farming in 2017. He was a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Casky Baptist Church. He was a charter member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hudson, NC.

Survivors include beloved wife of 60 years, Jan Powell of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Theresa (Tony) Franz of Bellbrook, OH; his sons, Chad S. (Catherine) Powell of Forest, VA, Michael “Todd” (Shelley) Powell of Murray, KY; his sister, Peggy (Joe) Myers of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Paul (Brenda) Powell of Hopkinsville, Danny (Cindy) Powell of Hopkinsville; his nine grandchildren, Charles Franz, Isabel Franz, Marga Franz, Mary Franz, Henry Franz, Joshua Powell, Benjamin Powell, Emily Powell, Carson Gilliam; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Charles and Janice Powell Legacy of Faith and Leadership Scholarship at 239 Serenity Lane Murray, KY 42071.

Mary Ann “Sissy” Seay, 95, of Clarksville, TN died at 7:28 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at Spring Meadows Healthcare & Rehab.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke, KY with Rev. Jesse Fleck officiating. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Pembroke, KY she was born April 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Wallace Browder Taylor and Cate Elizabeth Gray Taylor. Sissy was a retired bookkeeper having worked for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Sissy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She served as both Den Mother for the Girls Scouts and the Boy Scouts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M.A. Seay; and her sister, Betty Jean Taylor Blanchard.

She is survived by her son: Michael Albert Seay of Titusville, FL; her daughters: Melanie Ann Seay and M. Annette Reese both of Clarksville, TN; and her grandson: Justin Michael Reese.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethel United Methodist Church or Beacon Hospice.

Pam Massie Cole, age 77, of Pembroke, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Elkton Nursing and Rehab of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Fairview Volunteer Fire Department in Farview, KY, with Bro. Kim Combs officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Fairview Volunteer Fire Department on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at 3:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Pam was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on March 14, 1949, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Amelia Tandy Seay. She worked and retired from Flynn Enterprises and Walmart. She was a member of Fairview Methodist Church and a former member and former board member of Fairview Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Massie; her second husband, Gene Cole; her daughter, Tammy Thomas; her brother, Tinker Seay; and her grandson, Joshua Thomas.

She is survived by her son, Malcolm Lee (Misty) Massie of Pembroke, KY; her daughter, Jenny Newby of Hopkinsville; her sister, Jane Clark of Fairview, KY; her five grandchildren and her thirteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to American Alzheimer’s Association.

Marilyn Marie Randolph Moss, age 71, of Pembroke, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Elkton Nursing and Rehab of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Robert Webb officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be that morning at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the service hour at 12:00 PM. Marilyn was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on August 28, 1954, the daughter of the late Milus McKenzie and Estelle Marie Ezell Randolph. She was a member of Little River Church of Christ. She was a Nurse for over 50 years and retired from the Office of The Inspector General. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David B. Moss and her sister, Donnia Cunningham.

Survivors include her daughter, Melisa Moss (Brad) Morgan of Hopkinsville; her son, Timothy (Amy Wilcher) Moss of Hopkinsville; her sister, Kandy (Jeff) Waters of Murray, KY; and her two grandchildren, Zach (Katie) Morgan of Hopkinsville and Ally (Evan) Roby of Lebanon Junction, KY.

Beloved husband, loving father, devoted grandfather, caring friend, and life-long farmer, Henry Bates “Butch” Payne, Jr., age 73 of Pembroke, went to meet the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2026, surrounded by love at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Haley officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke. Visitation will be at the funeral home that morning on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM. Mr. Payne was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on August 3, 1952, the son of the late Henry Bates Payne, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Beard Payne. He graduated from Christian County High School in 1970 and went on to attend Austin Peay State University. Bates was a life-long member, former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Pembroke Baptist Church. He married his high school sweetheart, Brenda in 1971. He was a former board member of Christian County Farm Bureau, and was a current board member at PRECC, Pennyrile Rural Electric Coop. Bates loved farming, fishing, playing with his grandkids, seeing new places, cheering for Kentucky Basketball, and hoping for Kentucky Football. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Banton and Darla Congdon.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Brenda Renshaw Payne of Pembroke, his daughter, Brooke (Tim) Custis of Elizabethtown, KY; his sons, Benjiman Bates (Shelley) Payne of Hopkinsville, Barry (Jettie) Payne of Pembroke; and his six grandchildren, Payton Custis, Caroline Payne, Jonathan Bates Payne, Charlotte Payne, Wyatt Henry Custis, and Ellie Payne.

Joe Tandy Rives, age 77, of Pembroke, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Boone officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Joe was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on February 19, 1949, the son of the late Elliott T. and Garvie Hopson Rives. He was a self-employed electrician at Rives Electric. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He loved trains, old westerns, and golfing. Joe was a raging Tiger fan for HHS Sports where all three of his children graduated from even though he was a Christian County High School graduate himself. He served on the Pembroke City Council, a former member of the Pembroke Ruritan, and a former member of Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department. He was also known for being part of the Pembroke Lookout Team. Joe proudly served his country and was a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Gayle Price Rives, his brother, Elliott Rives and his sister, Ellen Ridgeway.

Survivors include his daughters, Lara (Stephen) Shull of Hopkinsville, Ashley M. (Michael) Young of Pembroke; his son, Bryan (Ginger) Rives of Cadiz, KY; his brothers, William “Bill” (Betty) Rives of Hopkinsville, Harry “Tom” (Mary) Rives of Clarksville, TN; his seven grandchildren, Sean Tyler Hardison, Elliott Mathew Shull, Amelia Blane Grace, Caleb Arthur Shull, Julius Graham Grace, Audrey Gayle Rives, Connor Dean Rives; his one step granddaughter, Michaela Phelps; and his four step great grandchildren, Dylan, Balyn, Joseph, and Riley.
