Headphone Check!

Most grades had a pair of wired headphones on their supply list. Students use wired headphones at different times of year for benchmark assessments, research on websites with audio support and other learning activities. If you did not send a pair in for your child now is a great time to put their name on a pair they are comfortable wearing. They can be headband style or earbuds as long as they are wired to plug into the chromebook. Most students prefer the fit and feel of a pair they helped select.

Exciting news! This fall, Pembroke Hill School will offer Let Me Run, a unique and empowering program for our 4th grade boys. Let Me Run uses the power of running to teach life skills, foster personal development, and create a sense of community. The program will meet twice a week for 7 weeks and is designed to keep your boys active while inspiring them to develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment.

The Pembroke Hill School Let Me Run Team is open to 4th grade boys and meets Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning on Monday September 19th. The season ends with a celebratory 5k race on Saturday, November 14th in Concord.

Happy Labor Day! We hope you are enjoying the beautiful weekend. Reminder, there is no school tomorrow to allow for voting. Wednesday will be a Red day when we return to school. Don't forget your sneakers if you have PE!

Let's talk about Lost and Found! Right now the PHS lost and found is empty and we would like to keep it that way. Help us by labeling items that your child might take off at school. This includes: jackets, sweatshirts, long sleeve T-shirts, backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, snow gear and did we mention sweatshirts?

Using a sharpie to write names or initials on clothing tags or collars works great. Silver sharpies work well on darker clothing items. Items with names or initials are returned to students. Items without names are often unclaimed.

Take a few minutes this week to grab a sharpie and label items your child will use daily or might grab on those first chilly mornings! Children often don't recognize their own items- especially if they are new!

Bus Routes are posted to the PHS website. Visit the Back to School section. Make sure you have filled out the dismissal plan survey that went out to parents.

Also-- don't forget to do your Alma updates if you are a returning 1st-4th grade. We would LOVE to have them all completed before the first day of school!
