Come out Saturday from 10 AM–7 PM and enjoy the Splash Pad! You are welcome to bring your lawn chairs ☺️

‼️ **UPDATE**

Third Street is open to traffic and will remain open through Sunday, May 17th. The road will close the morning of Monday, May 18th for construction work to continue. Construction completion and permanent re-opening (of Third Street) is still anticipated by the end of May.

🚧 THIRD STREET IS TEMPORARILY OPEN! 🚧

Third Street is now temporarily open to traffic and will remain open until Sunday, May 10th at 8:00 AM, when the roadway will close again so construction work can continue.

The road will also reopen on Saturday, May 16th, as the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and community members gather at UNC Pembroke to celebrate becoming the 575th federally recognized Tribe in the United States.

Construction on Third Street is expected to be completed by the end of May, at which time the roadway will reopen permanently.

This project is part of the Town of Pembroke’s multi-modal infrastructure improvements funded through a $5.2 million BUILD Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The project is designed to improve connectivity, safety, and accessibility throughout downtown Pembroke and between NC Highway 711, UNC Pembroke, and the Lumbee Tribe Headquarters. Third Street Improvements represent one phase of a broader $16 million investment in Pembroke’s infrastructure and connectivity.
