We really need to do more for our seniors!
After all if we’re not already one, we’ll never be one of lucky enough!

I had the privilege to talk to the Turtle’s senior group this past Monday. They meet once a week, raise their own money for supplies and such, by making old fashion bonnets and aprons. They meet in a tiny room off the back of the turtle bldg.

They would like to have a Senior Center like the one in Lumberton funded by the Lumber River Council of Government. This center is open daily and provides a lot more activities, classes etc. I don’t think it too much to have something similar for our Native Elders. They deserve it!
