On the 3rd day of June, we honor Assistant Sheriff Fernand Charles Jr. He currently serves with the Miami-Dade Sheriffโ€™s Office, one of the largest and most complex law enforcement agencies in the southeastern United States. With more than 26 years of service, he currently oversees Patrol Services, leading countywide public safety operations, crime reduction initiatives, emergency response coordination, and community engagement efforts. Throughout his career, he has held leadership assignments in patrol, investigations, Internal Affairs, community policing, recruiting, and executive command.

Assistant Sheriff Charles is passionate about building trust between law enforcement and the community through mentorship, youth outreach, violence reduction initiatives, and servant leadership.

Born to immigrant parents from Haiti, he is a proud first-generation Haitian American who hopes his accomplishments honor both Haiti and the United States while inspiring others to pursue their goals through hard work, perseverance, and faith. ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡น

Today we honor Captain Wilgienson โ€œWilโ€ Auguste, a dedicated leader with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and District Commander for Operations Patrol in the cityโ€™s northwest sector. As the leader of the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) Program, Captain Wil works tirelessly to reduce violent crime through strategic enforcement, community partnerships, youth mentorship, and access to vital support services.
A proud Fort Lauderdale native and the first Haitian American Lieutenant and Captain in FLPD history, Captain Wil is committed to building safer, stronger communities through service, leadership, and collaboration. Fluent in Haitian Creole and American Sign Language, he continues to bridge gaps, inspire change, and make a lasting impact throughout Broward County.

Community engagement has been a defining part of Captain Wil Augusteโ€™s career. Through his leadership, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on civic engagement, economic empowerment, and neighborhood revitalization. His commitment to strengthening communities extends beyond policing, serving as a panelist at the Sistrunk Empowerment Summit and leading impactful Group Violence Intervention (GVI) programs that bring together residents, businesses, faith leaders, and community partners to create safer and more prosperous neighborhoods.

A few fun facts about Captain Wil Auguste: He has been a proud member of NOBLE since 2014, serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Reserve Security Officer, and began his law enforcement career at just 18 years old as a military police officer.

Today, we proudly recognize Dana Levine for his exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to community engagement. He currently oversees the Operations Division of the Miami Gardens Police Department and has served with the Department since 2007 as one of its original 150 members. Commander Levine earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security from Tiffin University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. Commander Levine remains actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations, including the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), the Miami-Dade County Chiefs of Police Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Greater Miami Graduate Chapter of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. With more than 33 years in law enforcement, Commander Levine has dedicated his career to public safety, youth mentorship, professional excellence, and building stronger relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. As a leader within the Miami Gardens Police Department and an active member of NOBLE, he continues to inspire others through his integrity, vision, and unwavering commitment to service.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Finding Your Light Foundation project of 2026, made a meaningful impact at Maverly Primary and Infant School Wellness Center by donating an air conditioning unit and 40 pairs of NoBull sneakers to support the students and school community. NOBLE member Sandra Christie Brown was present in Jamaica to assist with the initiative and provide hands-on support during the presentation.

This effort reflects a continued commitment to uplifting youth, supporting wellness, and strengthening communities through service and partnership.
