For this week’s we are looking of Firefighter Andrew Gonzalez. Andrew has been with our Department for just over 2 years. You will usually find him on C-shift at Station 69. During his off time, you’ll find him hanging out with his close family and friends, working out, visiting the Keys or watching football. Now let’s get to the questions!
1. Why did you choose this career? I think this is the most rewarding career and being able to make a positive impact when someone is having their worst day is a very rewarding feeling. I chose to become a firefighter because I wanted a career where I can help people on their worst day. I enjoy working as part of a team, staying calm under pressure, and being there for people when they need help the most.
2. What’s your favorite thing about the job? My favorite thing about the job has to be spending time with the crew and the camaraderie. I also enjoy how each shift is different from the last.
3. Favorite movie or tv show? Spongebob
4. Who in your personal life has inspired you the most? My parents have to be my biggest inspiration
5. If you were not a FF what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t a firefighter I’d definitely be in the military
6. If you can travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Japan
