🔆 HEAT ADVISORY 🔆

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for South Florida, as dangerous heat and humidity create conditions that can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to take precautions throughout the day:
🔆 Drink water frequently, even if you do not feel thirsty
🔆 Take regular breaks in air-conditioned buildings or shaded areas
🔆 Avoid strenuous outdoor work, exercise, or recreation during the hottest part of the day, typically from late morning through early evening
🔆 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
🔆 Use sunscreen and protect yourself from direct sun exposure
🔆 Check on seniors, young children, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat
🔆 Never leave children, older adults, or pets inside a parked vehicle, even for a short period of time

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can develop quickly in South Florida's summer conditions. If you experience dizziness, nausea, confusion, rapid pulse, or other signs of heat illness, move to a cooler location and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

Stay informed. Stay cool. Stay safe.

🇺🇸 Flag Day 🇺🇸

On Flag Day, we honor the symbol that unites Americans across generations, communities, and backgrounds: the Stars and Stripes.

Since June 14, 1777, the American flag has represented the ideals of freedom, courage, sacrifice, and opportunity. It serves as a reminder of the men and women who have defended our nation and the values that continue to bring us together.

The members of the Pembroke Park Police Department proudly join our community in recognizing Flag Day and reflecting on what our flag represents.

Happy Flag Day from the Pembroke Park Police Department.
