Power has now been restored to members affected by this morning’s outage.

If you are still without power, please call our office at (800) 619-1040 so we can investigate your individual outage.

⚠️ UPDATE | 8:30 AM

Lightning struck PCEA’s Howell Substation this morning, causing damage to electrical equipment.

Members south and east of Pella served by the Howell Substation remain without power. Our line crews are working to reroute power from neighboring substations so service can be restored as quickly and safely as possible while repairs to the Howell Substation continue.

We appreciate your patience and will provide additional updates as they become available.

Storms moving through the area this morning caused damage at PCEA's Howell Substation, resulting in a power outage for members south and east of Pella, extending into Mahaska County.

Crews are on scene and working to safely restore power as quickly as possible.

Most members west of Hwy 14 have been restored.

Members along Hwy 14 and east on Hayes Drive remain without power. A tree fell through a power line, causing damage that requires repairs before service can be restored.

Crews are on scene and working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience.

For the past 35 years, Rob has played an important role in keeping the lights on for our members while leading with experience, dedication, and a strong focus on safety and service.

“It’s hard to believe 35 years have gone by so quickly. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside dedicated co-workers over the years who have become lifelong friends, and I’m proud of the work we do for our members every day. Being part of this cooperative has meant a great deal to me, and I’m thankful for all the memories and relationships built over the years.”
