On September 11, 2026, the City of Pell City, in partnership with Pell City Fire Department , Pell City Police Department , and Pell City Library , will host a memorial service to honor the victims and their families of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and United Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The event will include a live trumpet and guitar performance of Taps and America the Beautiful, remarks from Fire Chief Jerry Dailey, Police Chief Justin Cooper, Mayor Bill Pruitt, a prayer from Pastor David Weir of Victory Church, a moment of silence, and fire engines. Guests will be invited to the library for light refreshments and to see a fourteen-panel display provided by the 9/11 Commission.

The memorial will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Municipal Complex Lobby, 1000 Bruce Etheredge Pkwy, Pell City, AL 35128. The panel display will be available for public viewing throughout September
