For honor graduate Iyona Ervin, choosing Mr. Todd as her most influential teacher was an easy decision. The two formed a special bond from the very first day they met, and ever since, they’ve kept each other laughing with their constant picking and joking. Through the years, Mr. Todd has made a lasting impact on Iyona’s life, both inside and outside the classroom. It was only fitting that she chose him as the recipient of her Golden Apple. Congratulations to you both on this well-deserved honor!

Today we celebrated the retirement of Ms. Sandra Jenkins, the heart and backbone of Pelham High School. For so many of us, Ms. Jenkins has been a constant source of kindness, wisdom, fairness, and support. No matter what was going on, she was always someone you could count on with a smile, a listening ear, and a willingness to help in any way she could.

PHS will not be the same without her, and to say she will be missed is truly an understatement. While it is hard to imagine our school without her, we are so thankful for the years she poured into our students, staff, and community. Retirement is so well deserved, and we hope this next chapter brings her as much joy as she has given to everyone around her. Congratulations, Ms. Jenkins — we love you and thank you for everything!

Congratulations to honor graduate Daisy Lopez and her Golden Apple recipient, Mrs. Moncrief! Congratulations to honor graduate Leilana Ornelas and Mrs. Woods! Leilana chose Mrs. Woods as the recipient of her Golden Apple, an honor given to the teacher who has had the greatest influence on a student’s life. Leilana says that Mrs. Woods has not only always been there for her through everything, but for her family as well. Congratulations to you both!
