Our annual 9/11 Remembrance Event is right around the corner! More details about this year’s event will be coming soon.

If you would like to preorder a 2026 9/11 tribute shirt, please email [email protected] with your name, phone number, shirt size(s), and quantity.

Preorders must be submitted by August 26th.

At approximately 10:13 a.m. today, Pegram Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the rural area of Cub Creek Rd.

The homeowner safely escaped the residence and called 911, reporting a kitchen fire and confirming that everyone was out.

Pegram Fire Department responded with automatic aid from Kingston Springs Fire Department and mutual aid from Ashland City Fire Department. The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Department arrived first on scene and helped slow the fire’s spread by securing the rear entry door.

Once on scene, PFD crews made entry, quickly extinguished the fire, and ventilated the home to remove smoke.

The home was occupied by two adults. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.

We ask our community to keep those affected in your thoughts as they recover from the loss of their home and belongings.

We appreciate the quick response from our mutual aid partners and the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Department, and we thank our community for its continued support as we work together to serve and protect.

If only every scene we responded to was a cat stuck in a tree, this job and what we see wouldn’t haunt you. But that’s not the case, as today was one of those calls that will live in every emergency responders mind that was on scene, and more than likely forever.

So please most definitely pray for the family that has suffered this tragic loss, but please pray as well for every emergency responder that had anything to do with the incident today. They have to see things that no one in this world should ever have to see or be exposed to, but do it because they have to, all while taking a toll on their mental wellbeing. As Recruit Class 26-1 is winding down, we wish to thank our Asst. Chief John Sullivan for instructing this class for not only our recruits, but also for recruits from the Kingston Springs Fire Department. Taking on the task of instructing a class such as this is very time consuming, and takes up not only the recruits nights and weekends, but also the Instructor’s and those that assist with these classes. So thank you Chief Sullivan for all your time, your knowledge and your sacrifices to make this class happen that starts a new cycle of the next firefighters beginning their new careers.

We also want to give a shout out to Hunt Brothers Pizza for their continued support of emergency services agencies such as ours. Their wonderful pizzas help to keep the crews fueled up and nourished not only during trainings such as these, but also on some of the long lasting incidents we respond to.

And of course, thanks to all the new recruits for toughing these past few months out, as you begin your journey in a new career.

Continuing on with celebrating our 50th Anniversary, here are some more pics through the years, including the original station and also the original Board of Directors.

The original station was located in the rear of Pegram Park and the building is still there today and houses Pegram Public Works Department. This station was our Station 1 until we moved into our current Station 1 in 2002 located at 308 Highway 70. We also opened Station 2 in 2016 located at 1500 Little Pond Creek Rd.

Originally when our department was established in 1976, it was overseen by a Board of Directors. The original board directors are pictured in this post and are as follows, L to R -

Harlan Sanders, Board Member
Morris Hannah, Board Member

The Board oversaw the Pegram Volunteer Fire Department until 1988 when the board was dissolved & the Town of Pegram took over ownership & operations of the fire department, as it still is today.

This year's celebration was one for the history books as we celebrated America's 250th Birthday and the Pegram Fire Department's 50th Anniversary!
To everyone who came out to celebrate with us—thank you! Your support means the world to us.
Thanks to your generosity through our T-shirt sales, challenge coin sales, dunking booth, pageants, and countless donations, we are proud to announce that over $5,000 was raised!
Every dollar raised will go directly toward upgrading the Pegram Fire Department's radio communications system, helping us better serve and protect our community.
Thank you for supporting your hometown fire department, making lasting memories with us, and helping invest in the future of emergency services in Pegram.
