📣📣Calling all Veterans📣📣

On Wednesday June 10th, our legion meeting will be a gathering of veterans at The Hot Spot Smokehouse - Peetz held at 6:30pm.

Come hang out and meet our post officers. See what we are wanting to come up with and the fun stuff we are trying to do get more involvement. This is informal so we hope to see our brothers and sisters in arms to come hang out with us!

This week at Boy's State. Sponsored by the American Legion Colorado. Held at NJC in Sterling Colorado. 149 young men from all over Colorado traveled here for a one week kram course in how our government operates. They held elections for 6 cities, 2 countries and state offices. They're writing bills, arguing cases, making friends and receiving invaluable hands on practice. Having a Boy's State handle on nearly any college or scholarship application gives each of these young men an upper hand.
50 years ago I was honored to attend Boy's State Colorado have cherished the experience every since. This year I finally got to give a little back as a staff member. Thank you Colorado American Legion and Post 134 of Peetz Colorado for sending me so long ago.

Don’t forget we have the Memorial Day Program at 10:00am put on by our Colorado ALA Unit 134

05/14/2026

We have a really great opportunity coming up next Thursday (5/14) as the Cheyenne County Veterans Service Office partners with representatives from the Cheyenne VA Medical Center and Northern Colorado VA Health Care System to share information, answer questions, and help veterans better navigate their VA healthcare options.

This event will focus on the Care in the Community program, recent changes, and how veterans can best utilize the program for their healthcare needs. Living in a rural community, many of our veterans rely on Care in the Community services, making it especially important to understand how the process works and how to avoid common issues or delays.

Representatives will also be available to discuss VA healthcare benefits, eligibility, and services available through the VA Health Care System.

In addition, the VA will have a team on-site assisting with new Veteran Health ID Cards (VHIC) and VHIC renewals.

📅 Thursday, May 14, 2026
⏰ 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Sidney NE Elk's Lodge No. 1894 1040 Jackson Street, Sidney, NE

We encourage veterans, family members, and healthcare providers to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to get direct information and assistance from VA representatives.
