It's that time of year that a few of us remember the Battle of Glorieta Pass. Those of us who drive between Pecos and Santa Fe pass through the battlefield on our drive. Today, the Santa Fe New Mexican published an article to remind us of our little piece of the Civil War that, while small by comparison to the war in the East, was very consequential in ending any westward expansion of the war. The new exhibits offer diverse viewpoints of the rich history of the Pecos area and include voices from affiliated indigenous peoples and the local community.
