We hate to ever be negative, but we need to address a review that was recently posted on our page. The review states that the haunt was very scary and well done, but that as the family was going through the haunt one of our actors grabbed the daughter by the shoulders and yanked her backwards. We want to make it clear to everyone that this absolutely DID NOT happen!
First, most of our actors are seasoned vets who have played parts inside the haunt each year, for many years. They have all been told on numerous occasions to not grab onto the people walking through the haunt. In addition, we have cameras throughout the haunt that ensure they are not crossing any boundaries.
Secondly, the actor they accused of doing this had a costume that required keeping his hands within his shirt, so as to appear armless, thus making it impossible for him to grab anyone while in character. Though he did lunge at the girl in an attempt to scare her and her family (we're a haunted house... that is our job!) he did NOT grab her or even bring his arms out of his shirt until AFTER she slapped him hard across the face! At that point the actor did es**rt her and her family out of the haunt, as we have no tolerance for violence within our haunt.
We hate that we even have to address this, and even more than that, we hate that we had to kick anyone out or make anyone unhappy. However, this operation is run by volunteers of all ages (children, teens, and adults) and we have a responsibility to make sure they are not being harmed or mistreated, just as we have a responsibility to the guests to ensure they have a fun and safe experience. We want all of you to know that though you will be scared when you visit our haunted house, you can count on having a fun, safe, and memorable time as long as you keep your hands to yourself. Thank you again for all of your support and we look forward to seeing many of you on Halloween night!
