Last night, I was honored to be elected as Board President for Alvin ISD. I’m grateful for the trust placed in me, and even more grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community and our students. I’m also excited to get to work with our new Team of Eight.

Our hope is that every student in Alvin ISD feels seen, supported, challenged, and prepared for their future. We want teachers and staff to know their work matters. We want families to know we are listening. And we want our community to know we move forward best when we move forward together.

This role is not about politics, recognition, or personal agendas. It should always be about stewardship and service. It’s about making decisions that create stronger opportunities for kids for years to come.

Public education is facing real challenges, which means we have important work ahead. With that said, I’m excited about what’s possible when we stay united around the right priorities and keep students at the center of every decision.

The goals remain the same:
✅Do what’s best for kids.
✅Keep showing up.
✅Support the people doing the work.
✅And leave this district better than we found it.

Welcome back…

Texas’ charters continued growing this school year, but the pace slowed. Experts warn that the enrollment drop facing traditional school districts could also affect charters.

And did! Thankful for our team, and super excited to continue supporting our staff with this increase.

This evening, the Alvin ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2026-27 budget, which includes a 3% cost-of-living pay increase for all eligible full-time employees. This investment reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to investing in people who make Alvin ISD an exceptional place to learn and work.

We are grateful to our Board of Trustees for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our employees and for their continued support of those who serve our students, families, and community each day.

What better way to spend part of the day than with our very own I always enjoy spending time reading with kids in our community. Seeing their excitement over books, hearing their questions, and watching those smiles light up as they walked away with their own books for the summer makes me proud to support programs like this in our district.

Thank you to our staff who remains committed to making these stops enjoyable for the kids.
