Today, NASW-Mississippi Chapter, volunteers, members, voices, and advocates in Mississippi joined a protest and rally demanding protections of Black voting rights following the Supreme Court’s ruling which weakens protections for Black voters. Thousands of people from across Mississippi and neighboring states came to join us.
NASW leaders, member and volunteers participated today. Leaders served as legal observers helping to monitor situations of citizens with law enforcement and answer questions. The chapter office tabled at the event to do voter registration. We will continue registering voters and provide education across the summer.
