Choctaw Indian Princess 2026–2027, Miss Lexi Alaysia Flint, attended the Oka Kapassa Festival in Tuscumbia, Alabama, on Friday, September 11.

During the festival, Princess Lexi enjoyed visiting with guests, posing for photos, and proudly sharing Choctaw culture and traditions. As part of her presentation, she led the Snake Dance with several festival volunteers. She was accompanied by Chanter Mr. Ralph Isaac, who chanted and danced alongside the group.

Princess Lexi enjoyed a wonderful evening making new friends, sharing Choctaw culture, and learning about the traditions and cultures represented at the festival.

The Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) hosted a fun-filled Family Night on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Old Rec Field! Families came out to enjoy an evening of bingo and field games.

It was a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to spend quality time together, enjoy some friendly competition, and make lasting memories.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event, and to everyone who helped make Family Night a fun and memorable evening for our community!

A 2-mile Glow Run/Walk observing Su***de Prevention Awareness, hosted by Choctaw Behavioral Health, was held on Friday evening, September 11, in Choctaw. Hundreds of participants, wearing or carrying glow-in-the-dark accessories, made their way from the Geyser Falls Water Park parking lot to the Choctaw Sportsplex & back.

September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month – a time to remember lives lost to su***de, acknowledge millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, & many individuals, families & communities impacted by su***de. It’s a time to raise awareness about su***de prevention. You are not alone. Find help. Find hope. Protect our Tribe. Let’s build healthier communities.

On Friday, September 11, 2026, Neshoba Central High School celebrated Senior Night for its JROTC seniors, including Choctaw youth Branson Jim.

Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben was on hand to recognize Branson and present him with a gift. Congratulations, Branson, and best of luck in your future endeavors!

On Thursday evening, September 10, 2026, the Warrior Youth Football (WYF) Program hosted a "Meet The Warriors" event at Tushka Field (old CCHS Warrior Stadium). WYF President Robert Ben gave a brief welcome and thanked everyone for their attendance and support. 2026-2027 Choctaw Indian Princess Lexi Alaysia Flint served as the mistress of ceremonies and introduced the Warrior Youth Cheerleaders and the Tinimites, Rookies, Midgets, and Peewees teams.

Following the introductions, the WYF Cheerleaders performed a few cheer routines to showcase their outstanding spirit. Attendees then enjoyed a delicious cookout meal.

The first game for the Warrior Youth Football teams is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Tushka Field. Admission is $7.00. Parking will be available on the north side of the field (old CCHS parking circle). Everyone is invited to come out and show your support to our Warrior Youth Football teams and cheerleaders!!!

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, our 2026–2027 Choctaw Indian Princess, Miss Lexi Alaysia Flint, had the honor of visiting Perry Central Middle School.

During her visit, Princess Lexi spoke with students about the history, culture, and traditions of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. She also shared a little about her own background, her role as Tribal Princess, and the importance of representing her people in schools and communities across Mississippi.
