Good Evening!

Earlier today, I shared the attached letter with all Giles County Public Schools employees regarding the 1% Sales Tax Referendum that will appear on the ballot this November. In the interest of transparency, I want to share the same information with our entire community.

Over the next several weeks, we will continue working to provide clear and accurate information about the referendum, our school facility needs, and how the additional revenue could be used.

From mid to late September, we will hold community engagement events in each of our school buildings. At these events, I will share with you the progress we have made in addressing our existing facility needs. Additionally, I will detail the significant and critical capital projects that remain ahead of us that could be funded through this revenue source.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to review the information below. I believe this referendum represents an important opportunity to address the long-term facility needs of our schools while potentially reducing our reliance on real estate taxes to fund those needs.

My goal over the next several weeks is to make sure Giles County citizens understand what is being proposed and have the information necessary to make an informed decision in November.

We are making some adjustments to game day parking plans at both Giles High School and Narrows High School. Our goal is to ensure safe, convenient, and accessible parking for fans with disabilities while helping traffic flow as smoothly as possible for everyone.

Please take a moment to review the parking information for your school before arriving for your next stadium event. We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work to make our events welcoming and accessible for everyone.
