The highlighted parking areas at the Peachtree City Library will be temporarily closed on Monday, September 14, while restriping work is completed.

The closure is expected to last through midday. During this time, please use available City Hall parking and follow all posted signs around the work areas.

Moms, have you heard?! Mother Son Glow Night is lighting up Kedron Fieldhouse on Saturday, September 26, at 5 p.m., and Peachtree City Recreation and Special Events is pulling out all the stops: neon everything, a DJ keeping the music going, and plenty of glow to go around.

Tickets are $45 per resident couple, $65 per non-resident couple, and $20 for each additional ticket. This event is reserved for moms and sons ages 5 to 12. Space is limited, so lock in your spot at https://tinyurl.com/recreation-catalog or call 770-631-2525.

Heads up, compost fans! 🌿

The Rockaway Compost Facility at 100 Meade Field Drive will be closed on Wednesday, September 16, and Saturday, September 19, while our Keep Peachtree City Beautiful crew grinds mulch. Grinding begins on Monday, September 14, and the closures give the team the space they need to work safely.

Starting tomorrow, September 12, the Urban Archery Deer Management Program returns to select city greenbelts and runs through January 31, 2027. This seasonal program helps keep the local deer population healthy and in balance with the habitat we all share, and it takes place daily from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.

If you walk, run, ride, or cart through our greenbelt areas, here's what to know:

- Active zones are posted with official "Do Not Enter" warning signage.
- Stay on paved paths and designated walkways.
- Every hunting area is set back at least 150 feet from paths, cart paths, sidewalks, and roads.
- Keep dogs on a short leash near management zones.

This morning, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, our community gathered at Drake Field for the annual Remembrance Walk. We walked together in quiet reflection, honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the first responders who ran toward danger that day. Thank you to every community member who joined us. Your presence is a reminder that Peachtree City does not forget.

And to our own first responders, Peachtree City Fire Rescue and the Peachtree City Police Department, thank you for walking alongside us and for the service you give this community every single day. Seeing you in uniform this morning, shoulder to shoulder with neighbors, is what this remembrance is all about.

Here are a few moments captured this morning. We remember. We always will.

That is the number of New York City firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, Peachtree City Fire Rescue remembers each one of them, along with the nearly 3,000 people lost that day and the first responders, service members, and families whose lives were changed forever.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives forever changed and the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the face of unimaginable circumstances. We remember those who answered the call of duty, putting the safety and well-being of others before themselves. And we honor the profound sacrifice made by so many, and by the families, friends, and communities who carried that loss forward.

We remember. We honor. Peachtree City will never forget.
