Here is our 7-Day Outlook for the week ahead: Daytime showers and thunderstorms are forecast each day of the coming week, with the most widespread coverage across north Georgia on Monday and Tuesday. Rain could become heavy at times in north Georgia on Monday and Tuesday, which could lead to flash flooding concerns.

With temperatures rising into the upper 80s to mid 90s and humid conditions at the end of the week, heat index values are currently forecast to range from 100-104 degrees in central Georgia Friday through Sunday.

After a brief stretch of drier weather, rain chances return to our area tomorrow (Sunday). Showers and thunderstorms will be most likely in northwest Georgia in the afternoon. Storms will produce lightning and periods of heavy rain but are not expected to be severe.

A line of storms ongoing across TN and AL will move into North Georgia over the next few hours. While storms may weaken somewhat as they move through, a few could still become strong to severe with:
🌬️ Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph
🧊 Quarter-size hail
⛈️ Frequent lightning
Additional storms may also develop later this evening depending on how much instability recovers. Stay weather aware and have a way to receive warnings.
