Our annual Halloween Trunk or Treat event is quickly approaching us!

This absolutly spooktacular event will be held at our fire house at 2271 Robert Fulton Highway from 6-8PM. Hot dogs, snacks, and assorted refreshments will be available.

We are looking for any kind of set-up you can come up with to help make our event super-spectacular for the kids!

Last year we had so many great displays, from truck tractors to school buses, a garden tractor to many, many trunks. And this year we would like to make it bigger yet!!

We are hoping for many more!!

Please prepare to be staged and set up no later than 5:30 for the safety of the children.

We ask that only larger vehicles need to preregister so we can rope off enough space. Please send us a message or make a post here to let us know what you are bringing so we can reserve a larger space for you. Passenger vehicles do not need to preregister.

We regret to inform you that tomorrow’s Chicken BBQ has been canceled due to insufficient volunteer support. Many of our members will be attending required training, which has resulted in limited availability to assist with the event.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We are grateful for the continued support of our members and community and look forward to hosting the Chicken BBQ at a future date.

Time out 13:16 – Trash Truck Fire

Squad 89, Engine 89-3, and T89 responded to a smoldering fire inside a trash truck.

Assistant 89 arrived on scene, confirming the report. The driver dumped the load so crews could quickly access and extinguish the hot spots. Crews operated on scene and thoroughly soaked and extinguished the fire.

All RFFC Volunteers were clear of the scene at 13:43.

This evening, our members spent Monday night training working on two important areas of firefighter safety and emergency preparedness:

RIT Pack Training reviewing the equipment and procedures used to assist a firefighter who may become trapped, lost, or in distress during an incident.

Gas Meter Training practicing the proper use of gas meters to detect hazardous gases and help identify potentially dangerous environments.

Every hour we spend training is an investment in the safety of the people we serve. When an emergency happens, our community depends on us to arrive prepared, work together, and make the best decisions possible.

Squad 89 W/3, Engine 89-1 W/6, and Utility 89 W/5 responded to a 2 vehicle accident.

Assistant 89 arrived first on scene, confirming the report, with Engine 89-1 arriving shortly after. Crews operated on scene and assisted with the incident.

All RFFC Volunteers were clear of the scene at 16:39.
