** Aggregate Industries Blast Schedule **

Aggregate Industries has scheduled a blast event for today, Tuesday May 12th. The blast will be performed at 1PM. Last week's blast scheduled for Thursday was canceled due to low cloud cover.

Aggregate Industries has set up a service for residents to receive 24 hour advance notifications. Interested parties may choose to receive a phone call and/or email notification of a scheduled blast event. Please contact me if you would like to participate in this notification system.

I can be reached at 781-718-4003 or [email protected].

The Peabody Fire Department closely monitors every blast and enforces that Aggregate Industries utilizes blasting seismographs that monitor noise and vibration levels.

Please contact Peabody Fire Prevention with any concerns you may have at 978-531-2200.

📣The City of Peabody is launching a new mass notification system that delivers faster, more reliable alerts on critical public safety issues and important community updates. As part of the system’s launch, residents will receive a call from Mayor Ted Bettencourt on Tuesday, April 28th. If you receive this call, it means you are already enrolled in the City’s notification system. If you do not receive the call, you are not yet registered. In either case, you can sign up, update your preferences, or opt out at any time by visiting www.peabody-ma.gov.

*** Lowell St. Repair Update ***

🚨I want to update you on the planned repaving of Lowell Street from Route 1 West to the West Peabody Fire Station.

As many of you know, that stretch has shot to the top of the standings as one of the worst roads in the city, a fact my mother in law reminds me of often, and not very nicely.

With the warmer weather upon us, we can finally move forward with repaving this section. Milling will begin later this month, which is the first step in the two part paving process. I’ll send out another message soon with exact dates and timelines.

I’m sorry we couldn’t pave this area before winter, but we were required to wait six months after installing the new water main before any paving could begin to avoid sinking of the road.

Thank you for your patience. Better days, and smoother roads — are ahead. And hopefully, a few kind words from my mother in law.

If you have any questions, please contact my office at 978 538 5700. Thank you.
