🚧 Central Street update Thursday 6/11 & Friday 6/12

ROAD CLOSURES
· Central Street outbound traffic will be closed at Central Street and Warren Street.
· Central Street inbound traffic will be closed at Wilson Square.
· Tremont Street will be closed at Wallis Street for the secondary detour movement.

PRIMARY DETOURS

Outbound traffic, Peabody Center to Wilson Square: Traffic will be detoured at Central Street and Warren Street to Endicott Street, then right onto Endicott Street toward Wilson Square.

Inbound traffic, Wilson Square to Peabody Center: Traffic will be detoured down Endicott Street from Wilson Square to Warren Street, then returned to Central Street.

SECONDARY DETOURS

Traffic on Tremont Street will be detoured onto Wallis Street, then onto Elm Street, allowing traffic to reconnect with Central Street.

🚧 Central Street Update

Below is the information from MDR about expected detours. 6/1 - 6/12

Effective for the next two weeks Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

PRIMARY DETOURS

🚧 Northbound Traffic from Peabody Center (toward Wilson Square)

Motorists traveling northbound from Peabody Center toward Wilson Square will be detoured onto Warren Street, then instructed to take a right onto Endicott Street and proceed to Wilson Square. Detour signs are posted throughout the route.

🚧 Northbound Traffic Heading Toward Salem

Motorists traveling toward Salem may continue past Warren Street, then will be detoured right onto Tremont Street, continuing toward Margin Street. Detour signs are posted along the entire route.

🚧 Southbound Traffic from Wilson Square into Peabody Center

Southbound traffic will continue to travel its normal route, with one lane open through the work zone.

SECONDARY DETOURS

🚧 Warren Street Closure

Warren Street is closed at Crownshield, redirecting motorists toward Lowell Street, where they can reconnect to Central Street from Peabody Center. Additional Road Closed signs are posted at Warren Street & Buxton Street.

🚧 Traffic Entering Peabody from Salem via Tremont Street

Motorists traveling from Salem into Peabody on Tremont Street will be detoured onto Wallis Street, where they may continue to either Elm Street, or Walnut Street. Motorists may choose either route. Detour signage is posted throughout this area to guide drivers.

🚧 Use caution when driving near workers and equipment.

While this is not a public hearing, the chair has the discretion to allow public comment. As the Finance Committee Chair, public participation will be available in person and remotely via Zoom.
