At Wilson Elementary, we have a mission statement this year that is simple, powerful, and something we believe we can accomplish together:
“We will ensure that all students perform at grade level or higher in each subject.”
This mission belongs to all of us—students, teachers, staff, families, and our entire Wilson community. Every person has an important role in helping our students reach their Destination: Success.
Students do their part by coming to school every day and on time, being ready to learn, working hard, making great choices, asking for help when they need it, and giving their best effort. Teachers provide high-quality instruction, monitor student learning, celebrate growth, and provide additional support when students need it. School staff create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where students can focus on learning and feel that they belong. Families play a critical role by making attendance and punctuality a priority, supporting learning at home, communicating with the school, and encouraging their students to work hard and keep growing. As a school community, we work together, communicate, and support one another with the shared belief that every student can learn at high levels.
We encourage you to read our mission statement with your student each night and talk about how they are doing their part. Ask them, “What did you do today to help reach our mission?” We can accomplish this goal, but it takes every one of us doing our part. When students, staff, and families work together, every student at Wilson Elementary can reach their Destination: Success!
